Coast Lagoon Loop TrailLake Earl Wildlife Area, California The Lake Earl Coast Lagoon Loop Trail is an easy walk from Lake Earl Drive through the woods to the shore of Lake Earl Wildlife Area. Two picnic tables are located on the south corner of the loop trail and several benches are located at different places along the trail for those who want to sit and contemplate the verdant temperate forest near the lake shore. The total round trip from the parking area is about a mile of fairly level trail. The most challenging part of the walk is crossing a make-shift log bridge over the creek. Directions From Crescent City, drive north on Highway 101 and turn left on Northcrest Drive. Follow this road for about four miles and look for the parking area on the left about a half mile past the intersection with Elk Valley Road. (Note: Northcrest Drive changes it name to Lake Earl Drive about half way to the trailhead.)
