Siskiyou WildernessIf you want to go to the Siskiyou wilderness plan on driving 15-20 miles off of Highway 199 to get to the wilderness boundary. The primary access points to the Siskiyou wilderness are shown on the map below.
1) South Fork Road & Gasquet-Orleans (GO) Road From Highway 199, drive about 14 miles to the Gasquet-Orleans Road and turn right. Drive another 12 miles to the Summit Trailhead.
2) Jones Creek Road (Jawbone Road - USFS 16) Follow this narrow, partially paved road for about nine miles to Bear Basin Butte and then turn left on USFS 16N02, a gravel road to Doe Flat and the trailhead to Devils Punchbowl and the northern section of Clear Creek National Recreation Trail. Island Lake Trail is another three miles past the Doe Flat Road on USFS 16
3) Knopki Creek Scenic Backcountry Road Follow this gravel road for about 15 miles to Sanger Lake and the trailhead to Youngs Valley and Raspberry Lake.
4) Jefferson State Scenic Byway. Follow this paved road for about 20 miles and then another five miles on a gravel road to Poker Flat and the trailhead to Twin Valley and Kelly Lake.
