Bigelow Lakes Loop Trail is located near Oregon Caves National Monument and Cave Junction in southwest Oregon. The four mile drive to the trailhead involves driving on gravel roads. The last half mile of the road to the trailhead is rough and may require high clearance vehicles to pass. The road may be closed during the winter due to snow. Check road conditions before attempting to drive to the trailhead especially in the spring. Length: about four miles for the entire loop trail.
Elevation gain: about 700 feet

This map is intended to provide general orientation for the location of the Bigelow Lakes trailhead but does not have all the roads that are found in this area. It is recommended that you purchase a Forest Service map when ever planning to travel on back country roads in this region. The entire route from Oregon Caves to the trailhead is on gravel surfaced roads.

Directions to the Bigelow Lakes Loop Trailhead
Starting at Oregon Caves National Monument, drive to the lower end of the main parking lot and look on the right for a one lane paved road near the bottom of the parking lot. Turn on to this road. The pavement ends in about 300 feet and becomes a gavel surfaced road that climbs steeply for about half a mile. Follow this road for three miles to the intersection with USFS 070. Turn right (an almost 180 degree turn). Drive about half a mile to the road on the right and follow this for about half a mile to the parking area and trailhead. Some sections of this final half mile of road to the parking area is rough and may be difficult for low clearance cars to pass.
