A 78 mile road through the coastal mountains of Oregon and California. The main route between Redwood and Crater Lake National Parks.

Directions:
The road begins and ends at Highway 101 and Interstate 5.
Interstate 5:  Begins at Exit 55 in Grants Pass.
Highway 101: Begins three miles north of Crescent City.

Transportation:
Airports:
Commercial: Medford has flights provided by some airlines. Vehicle rentals available.

General Aviation: Private planes have three airports in the Highway 199 corridor. Grants Pass (Merlin): Fuel and car rentals.
Illinois Valley Airport: No Fuel, no car rentals no food services
Grants Pass Airport: Fuel, car rentals, no food services
Crescent City Airport: Uncertain of services. 

Bus:
Grayhound has a depot in Grants Pass. There is no bus service offered from Grants Pass to Crescent City.

Highway 199 is narrow and some sections have little to no shoulder.
