Harbor seal at the Marine Mammal Rescue Center, Crescent City, California
   Return to Crescent City

Marine Mammal Rescue Center, Crescent City

This nonprofit facility is located next to the Crescent City harbor bay on the west side of the park between the Kid Town play ground and Battery Point lighthouse. Interpretive signs outside the building provide information about marine mammals and glimpses of the injured seals and sea lions can be seen by walking around the fenced rehabilitation ward. A gift store is located inside the building.

The facility is managed entirely by volunteers who contribute their time to making northern California a better place to live. If you want to meet the local residents of northern California, this is a place you will want to visit. Two blocks away, you can meet more great people at the Battery Point lighthouse, a historic site entirely  managed and operated by volunteers who are residents of the north coast.
