Battery Point Lighthouse

The Battery Point lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouses on the California coast and is a fun side trip whether you decide to take the tour or not.

Tours are offered at low tide when the beach is exposed between the lighthouse and land. There is no trail and visitors may have to walk over piles of driftwood and around slippery rocks to get to the walkway on the lighthouse island. Good walking shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots) are recommended.

Directions (see Crescent City map)

The lighthouse is located at the end of Front Street near the Marine Mammal Rescue Center in the city park.
